A software update is usually provided free from a manufacturer to support the latest hardware such as printers, DVD drives, web cams, etc. An update is sometimes called a patch, because it is applied over the software that you already have installed.

A software upgrade usually involves the purchase of a newer or more fully-featured version of your current software.  Manufacturers of software are continually coming out with the latest and greatest of software upgrades. Examples of this are Windows operating systems such as Vista or Windows 7 or business and antivirus software such as Office, Quicken or Kaspersky Internet Security. Almost every program running on your computer will have an upgrade available within the next year. Should you upgrade?

That is a question we will help you answer. Some things to think about are:

- is now the best time to upgrade?
- will my current hardware support the new software?
- how long will my current software be supported?
- does the new software offer all the features I want?
- will any training be necessary?
- will there be any conflicts with existing software?
- does the proposed upgrade offer me genuine improvements?

Whether you are contemplating upgrades or are having trouble with a current upgrade, give us a call and we will help make all your upgrades as seamless and trouble free as possible.
